243 winchester loads

I have a Rem. model 700 VLS in a 243 win. I was wanting to try it on antelope possibly this year. I was wondering if anyone had any good loads they would share for antelope. I have a good load worked up shooting a 75gr. Hornady V-max but I don't think that is a good bullet choice for pronghorns.

I use 43.5 grs. of IMR4350 w/ an 85 gr. Sierra BTHP.
The accuracy is supurb and I have "crushed" whitetails with it.
It should be good speedgoat medicine!!!

My wife took her first speedgoat two year ago with her 243. The load she used was Barnes 85 grain Triple shock back by 43 grains of H-4350. It did such a good job on her speedgoat that is all she uses now for mule deer.

I use 43.5 grains of IMR 4350 with a 90gr swift scirroco. excellent groups. they were shooting around 3150 to 3200 fps out of my remington 700 SPS. I have shot one mule deer with it at about 200 yards. i hit it behind the shoulder and the bullet exited the other side. he took about two steps and he was done.

Seems like everyone uses 4350, the load I am shooting is 43.5 gr. of H4350 and the 75gr. V-Max at 3410 fps. Its awesome on ground hogs and coyotes. I just wasn't sure how it would do on pronghorns. I have never hunted them before.

i would not try the v-max on anything bigger than a coyote. theyre an awesome bullet for blowing gophers up, but explode way too much deer/antelope.

I as well use IMR 4350. 40.5 gr of powder and shoot Nosler 95 gr. bt Ballistic Tips. They do a great job on deer so I am sure that they have the same results on Antelope. I am shooting somewhere around 3100 fps.
