DFW site is busy

Yep....I have been trying for like two hours and can't get through......surely later tonight or real early in the morning........Good luck to all trying to sign on and do their applications!

I Was having the same problem, so I googled Colorado Division of Wildlife then skiped the main set of sites and went to the next line, I think it said total licensing system, and I got in on the first try.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-02-13 AT 07:42AM (MST)[p]I got the OCI error a few times so I finally called the 800 number listed. Was on hold for 1hr 14min while I got ready for work, ate breakfast, took dog out and finally had to hang up so I could come to work. Now their line is busy... :)

I also called the 800 number and was on hold for quite a while.
a guy finally picked up and told me they have a problem with the on-line system (NO $*&T!!! that's why I'm calling!!)
Anyway he said they wil be working on it and to just try back later

the problem is that you have to go through the entire application process again before you find out the system is still not working. Why don't they just pull it off-line until it is fixed?

Sorry had to vent a little......having a bad day at work.

I was having the same problem so I went to the link from my Hunters Trailhead reminder email and I got right in. If you subscribe to it try it.

I just checked my credit card, and every time i tried, which was 23 times, is showing as a pending charge on my card. Awesome. This should be fun to figure out.

Tried the link on the CDOW website again during lunch and was able to get all 4 of my family members' applications completed. Looks like they got the problem fixed.

Now it's waiting time til the draw........

Sounds like Arizona Game and Fish computer guru's have moved to Colorado and brought there excellent computer skills with them. Heavy volume....lock up server. Locked up server, no problem just extend application period. Repeat process next year.

Good luck to all who apply. Just did points in AZ this year so no need to wait (and wait and wait and wait) for AZGFD to post draw results before applying in Colorado.

I got the same issue, 4 or 5 pending cc charges! Wondering if I need to do anything or if the CDOW is taking care of this issue for all the people that made multiple attempts and received error messages each time.

After reading this about the pending charges, I checked my Cabelas card. Yup, about $3100 of additional pending charges above and beyond what the actual charges should be and I know we didn't draw elk or goat tags in AZ. It equates to about 3 failed attempts for my son and I for deer and elk tags. I hope they get it straightened out by tomorrow or I get to make another call to CDOW.

Good thing I didn't keep making too many failed attempts or my card could have maxed out on failed pending attempts and then reject the charge when they finally fixed their on-line problem. That would have made me real angry to get rejected because of their goof up!!!

It's not really "their" goofup. When wait till the last minute people barrage the server stuff like this happens. Can't really blame anyone or anything. Maybe you all should apply in the 2 1/2 months prior to the deadline.

Agreed! I can't imagine why anyone would wait until the last day to apply. Too much could go wrong from either end. it is like waiting until April 14th to file your taxes. You guys have nothing to complain about.

CoRam & Cohntr
There are many reasons why people like myself and others would wait until late in the draw period to apply:

1. To make good informed decisions. I have 3 sons and we had 8 applications in for AZ" elk and antelope and wanted to confirm if we drew anything in AZ before applying for a hunt in CO that would have potential conflicting dates. I'm sure others wait for these same reasons.

2. It is good business. Why let someone else hold your money any longer than necessary. It is all about something called interest (addressed in a basic high school economics class). I see you both are residents and therefore dont have to front thousands of dollars for the CO draw period like many of the other posters on this thread. Many of us are not filthy rich and are simply trying to maximize our available financial assests to the best of our abilities within the timeframes of all the states.

As for the error. Yes I beleive that it is "their" error that "their" system charged pending charges for a business transaction that never occured. That is truly an error. It wasn't "our" error - we didn't do anything wrong by enterining incorrect information or filing incorrectly or outside of their posted timeframe. I can understand that a server can get overloaded and a website can go down. That is why I initially tried applying 30 hours before the deadline (not "last minute" like you seem to think many of us did). The time of my posting isn't directly related to when I initially attempted to apply.

I am glad I was not the only one with multiple charges. What do I need to do/ I have 3x the charges. Are you guys calling calling CPW or your bank/card company?

No need to get angry next year when you get to the last day just slip it in the mail.

I called my credit card company. They had received numerous other calls with the same issue and indicated that I needed to call CDOW.
I called CDOW and they were working on the problem. Their vendor made some mistakes in processing the applications. Nice guy on the phone. he took down my information looked up our CID numbers and confirmed the error. He indicated that they were thinking it will take about 2 - 3 business days to get the charges reversed.

2-3 days, your lucky. The charges won't clear my bank for 5-7 days. This was their error for sure but it could have been avoided if I would have applied this weekend.
