Not sure if one can get a refund if they surrender a permit in Wyoming if it is not health related. Anyone have any knowledge on this subject. Thanks.

Has to fit in these parameters.

(mmm) ?Unable to Use the License For Good Cause? means an individual is unable to use a limited quota, full price big or trophy game license due to disabling injury or illness, military personnel who receive permanent change of station (PCS) orders or are assigned away from their home duty station on temporary orders (TDY) for the majority of the regular season, or when the Department has determined a majority of, or the entire hunting opportunity has been lost in a specific limited quota hunt area for a full price big or trophy game animal due to the administrative actions of the state or federal government in closing the majority of or all public access to a hunt area, or due to a natural disaster, including, but not necessarily limited to, wildland fires.

Had a friend that had a big fire at their personal property and lost quite a few things in it.
He was able to return his tag for a refund.

Nice that G&F was able to use some common sense to do that refund even though that was out of the ordinary. My guess is they used the part that refers to natural disasters when fires is normally only when one occurs in the hunt area itself.

Unfortunately, I have experience on this subject. My Mother passed away in 2017, just 4 days prior to when my son and I were supposed to leave for Wyoming. I called and spoke with the Game and Fish Department, with hopes of being able to somehow get our antelope points back, since we were not going to be able to go hunting. They were very helpful and offered detailed info on what to do, not only were we able to get our points reinstated back to us, but we were able to get a refund for our tags. The folks that I spoke to on the phone were extremely polite and helpful through the whole process. I have nothing but praise for the way I was treated and the way Wyoming handled my situation.

Very glad to hear these good reports on how they give consideration to these particular circumstances. None of us know when serious
unforeseen occurrences may knock us out of a long awaited hunt and being able to recover points could sure soften the blow.
