He has 13 points for elk so I'm going to say it's more than likely he's a NR.Are you nonresident?
YesAre you nonresident?
With current record high populations of elk in a Wyoming, any area can produce. Many of the biggest bulls are taken on General License areas which you could easily draw. Best if you have horses.Slim chance of getting drawn , may have to look at a few other options, want to hunt
I like that area 100 , it’s a good area to drive and glass but Horses on a wilderness area would be good alsoYou looking for a 4x4 type hunt or wilderness type hunt?
I’m looking at a DYI huntWillys,
Do you want to hunt DIY or with an outfitter?
Either way works for my hunting style! I’d prefer a wilderness hunt! You looking for a 4x4 type hunt or wilderness type hunt?
You’re not going to be able to do a wilderness hunt without using an outfitter. Unfortunately.Either way works for my hunting style! I’d prefer a wilderness hunt!
I’ve considering 24. I’ve heard there is quite a few roads on the unit! Is there a way to backpack in and get away from everything? What quality of bulls was you getting into?I hunted 24 this year if you're interested. You'll find bigger bulls in the wilderness areas I'm sure but I had a great hunt. No grizz if thats an issue.
Thank you for the information! Maybe I should hold out for a few more year and see if I could draw unit 22!Lots of roads. Backpacking in would not be necessary. We did find some spots where people were afraid to go into and found some really good hunting. A lot of the hunters seemed to drive the roads blowing the party whistle trying to find them. If your looking for huge bulls it's probably not your hunt. We had a great time!
I’ll have to look into 38! Thanks for the info!38 should be a consideration as well.

That makes sense!Doesn’t have to be a long ways from the road either. Any terrain that presents a little bit of difficulty will usually dissuade people on these types of hunts. And if the hike starts out downhill, forget about it. That’s why these hunts are so popular. It’s not because you can find a huge bull. It’s because you can kill one close to the pickup.
We focus on trophy elk, mule deer, antelope and moose hunts and take B&C bucks most years.
