Just a little more to the story. This is Trey’s 2nd buck. He has been by my side since he was 5 years old on deer hunts. During those years he has been with and we (my family) have killed some good bucks. In his first year that he could hunt (2 years ago) I mentored my tag to him. He shot this buck:

I figured I would share pics of my boy’s buck here, from this year’s Utah general season hunt. My boy tagged out opening day on a good buck. I’m with Zeke on this one. Limiting technology is not going to increase ? for animal numbers. The reason there were more big bucks back then, is plain and simple, there were more animals. Not because granddaddy didn’t have a 20-60x100mm scope on his .30-30 Winchester. Or a spotting...

Just returned home from hunting 7 days on the beaver unit. It was one of the toughest rifle hunts I have been on in trying to find a shooter buck. We had three tags in camp and only one tag got filled. We honestly saw very few bucks(between the three of us 20-25 bucks) during those 7 days too...
