Ive thought about suggestibg this for awhile now.. because things have gotten ridiculous with guys taking 700 yard or longer shots.. too me thats not hunting at all.. what if we made scopes on rifles illegal during the hunting season? That would force the wanna be snipers into actually hunting...

the big bucks tend to wander in large circles in 66 and 69... its big country with lots of hidey holes.. the deer are there.. you just got to find em.. I put a tag one a buck pretty much every year.. and bull elk too..

I'll thro my 2 cents in here.. In my experience, and I hunt for the meat.. Its a matter of what they are eating.. and the rut. Ive killed desert bucks that were very bitter tasting.. wont kill another one if i can help it, lol. And hay and grain field fed bucks that are the tenderest you can...

HAHAHA... Nope just didnt get a pic of Jerry's deer.. Dad got a few with jerry and his little boy standing next to the deer but I haven't seen them yet.. How bout you guys?

Not sure where your hunting at in 66 but we seen lots of deer. My bro killed a two point. My dad killed the 4x5. I got the 4x4. all in 66.

HAHA dido that on the ATV's and trucks Huntnnw. I cant count the times ive driven up on bulls and had them just stand there looking at me, like "what you want punk", lol.. And me telling them to haul ass before some moose hunter comes along and plants them!

Hi Dan, COngrats on the tag. I dont hunt moose personally. I dont like the taste! BUT, I have hunted that area for 30 years, and know it inside out. The moose tend to start rutting about mid october and go thru into november.. 36 inches sounds about right, I know there are a few that go bigger...

Hes okay.. 190 maybe as a typical.. He looks like a young buck still.. Id let him be for a few more years, find his sheds if possible. Two more years and your looking at a potential idaho record if he doesn't get injured.

does your buddy have a tag for this unit too? I would hunt it from oct 25th to nov 8th. The big bucks are coming down into the lower canyons looking for does about that time. Weather it snows or not. Anywhere off the road in pine creek canyon is good to hunt at that time. The snow is a bonus if...

UGA is sorta right. You can access 66 from swan valley, but only a small portion of it, if the snow has hit hard. The best deer hunting in November is to the south end of the unit anyway. When snow is heavy the deer head west toward unit 69. or south toward soda. Ive hunted this area for 30...
