Ive thought about suggestibg this for awhile now.. because things have gotten ridiculous with guys taking 700 yard or longer shots.. too me thats not hunting at all.. what if we made scopes on rifles illegal during the hunting season? That would force the wanna be snipers into actually hunting...

the big bucks tend to wander in large circles in 66 and 69... its big country with lots of hidey holes.. the deer are there.. you just got to find em.. I put a tag one a buck pretty much every year.. and bull elk too..

Not sure where your hunting at in 66 but we seen lots of deer. My bro killed a two point. My dad killed the 4x5. I got the 4x4. all in 66.

HAHA dido that on the ATV's and trucks Huntnnw. I cant count the times ive driven up on bulls and had them just stand there looking at me, like "what you want punk", lol.. And me telling them to haul ass before some moose hunter comes along and plants them!

Hi Dan, COngrats on the tag. I dont hunt moose personally. I dont like the taste! BUT, I have hunted that area for 30 years, and know it inside out. The moose tend to start rutting about mid october and go thru into november.. 36 inches sounds about right, I know there are a few that go bigger...

Hes okay.. 190 maybe as a typical.. He looks like a young buck still.. Id let him be for a few more years, find his sheds if possible. Two more years and your looking at a potential idaho record if he doesn't get injured.

UGA is sorta right. You can access 66 from swan valley, but only a small portion of it, if the snow has hit hard. The best deer hunting in November is to the south end of the unit anyway. When snow is heavy the deer head west toward unit 69. or south toward soda. Ive hunted this area for 30...

Here are a couple of animals I killed this year. Meat for the freezer! It was hot and dry, didnt see a lot of deer like the game and fish had been predicting. But the weather certainly didn't help. Cant complain tho! Hope everyone else did good this year. I hunt eastern Idaho areas. Davey

Seen 2 just opposite the powder station on bone road. Near the turn off for Kepps. One big bull with nice palms, and a smaller one. They were on private property with the windmills.

Muleys24seven where are you getting your info from? I live here in this area you are describing and there are plenty of access points. You can snowmobile up fall creek road all you want and find the wolves hitting the elk on the upper end of Tex creek and across skyline ridge, down into Stukies...

yeah, Head on over to Roberts. Go to the market lake area and hunt along the river bottoms on the North-side of the snake river. You can access it from a parking lot near market lake, or if the road is still open, you can go across market lake and on up into the sage-hills. Hunt the knolls...

Huge body and lots of good steaks always works for me. I couldn't care less about the antlers, they don't taste good and always chip my teeth when I chew on them. :)

I pick up a lot of antlers in the spring and I have never found anything even close to the size of these two bucks. I would love to see these animals in person. Maybe someday I will get to look at them.

That is one hell of a non typical! But not the same deer as the non typical picture I have. My brother currently has those pictures and he is elk hunting for the weekend, so I will have to wait for him to get back and return those pictures to me before I can post them. Sorry guys.

Nope, not my circle of friends 30hart, lol. I have no clue who these guys are other than they are buddies of my cousin Dusty. I will post what I have tomorrow and see if they turn out decent. These are truly giant deer. You guys will crap when you see them.

Humm, interesting posts fellas, never thought of energy transfer that way. And yes, it coulda been the angle on the spike bull. All the other elk I have killed have not fell over like that spike did.

Yep agreed, Rancher and hunter alike are doing exactly that here in Idaho and it is starting to work in those areas where it is being employed! So is the game and fish, and they are telling nobody about it, lol. The just call it "removing problem wolves".
