    January Mule Deer Hunters? ?

I've been traveling a lot chasing Quail, Ducks, and Geese I can tell you the rut is in full swing now. Watched a Whopper cross the Rio twice on a hot doe Thursday. Some big boys running around this year, and I don't have a tag either!!!! Good Luck to those that do.

    Same deer?

Likely from the same genetic pedigree. Great deer though. You've found a Honey Hole for sure!

Unit 21 Archery New Mexico mule deer

After 5 years of drought it's doubtful you'll find many places with significant "numbers"! I've found in 21, if you find deer scouting in August they'll stay in that canyon at least until mid November.

    Sandhill Buck

From your picture it looks like you A$$ shot him at a100 yards? Next time use a wind meter, or just Kentucky it.

Way to go Jim!!! Persistence and hard work will usually payoff. And yes that 50 mile stretch.
