Well, I did'nt want to be one of those guys posting on here and not following up with results. I am beyond blessed to have taken this mature Bull on my hunt! My Dad was for sure looking down on me during the draw and Hunt. Thanks to my guide Ryan and Jeremy at Timberline Outfitters Tonapah!! It...
Buckxmaster wrote in the thread where he posted the pic.... "This Bull was not coming in to any calls, so we decided to stalk.. we got to 81 yards and I made the shot between aspens 2' apart, a pass through double lung shot, the Bull went 30 yards and was Done! A hunt of a lifetime for sure!"
Heading up to scout end of August, first week in Sept. to see what grade of bulls are running around and get somewhat the lay of the land. The new onx terrain X is an amazing tool and I have figured some areas with vantage points to spot in through the canyons. Thinking about taking a fold up...

Thanks for the insight guys. I drew a Nevada 161-164 archery elk this year as well, so I will hunt Wyoming probably the last 8-10 days of October on a DIY hunt hoping to find a bull within leg range.
Well, up until this year I have not been a lucky drawer! The good Lord has blessed me with this archery permit, and one in 97-1 Wyoming... Now to make it all come together!
Thanks guys, So during the Rut the Elk are 10 miles in. The hunt goes to Oct. 31, if not using horses, would the last 8 days of the hunt have some of those elk moving down any?
Thanks DD, Wondering if the winter kill had an effect on the herd. I reached out to a local outfitter awaiting a response. I live in Idaho, and this was the first time I put in for Wyoming. Go figure, I have'nt drawn in Idaho in 40 years!
