You've all given me a glimmer of hope. I assumed based on the message I saw that I didn't draw. Now I can feel let down again later this week, but for now there's a chance :)

So which is it? Earlier you said "you could drive right up to them" and now "had to actually hunt to have success". Seems like no matter what I posted in this thread, you needed to be negative.

I did finally get a doe on this hunt. I'm sure some people can go and get it done in one morning, but it was tougher than I was anticipating. It was fun though, had some good stalks.

We didn't start hunting until yesterday. I think between the opener and yesterday, they got pretty skittish. Got close a couple times, but they bolt before I can make it happen. Definitely no driving up to them today.

I am hunting this unit this week. I hunted today and scouted a couple weeks ago. Seems like most of the antelope are on private. Does anybody have any ideas where to check for antelope does on public? I found a couple this evening, but they were very skittish. I'll be getting after them...

PM me, I had the early rifle tag and I know a couple spots not too far from roads that we saw bulls in. Of course things will be different between the early season and mid season.

Update. I got this bull opening day. We called him into 50 yards - he came crashing up the hill to us. The spot we found him in was shared with me from someone on MonsterMuleys. I really appreciate the advice I got through PMs on here. He's not a monster, but he's a mature 6 point which is...

I went out again last night and setup another camera. Then I glassed till dark and didn't see any elk. I saw tons of deer. I'm sure I'll run into the elk eventually, but I just haven't found the right place yet.

I drew the Wasatch early rifle elk tag this year. I've done a fair amount of scouting already but I haven't seen many elk yet. Is this normal for this time of year? Will it be easier to find them during the hunt (i.e. during the rut)? I'd love to PM or even talk on the phone with people who...
