Just my 2 cents:
I doubt you will have to take a shot over 200yds. I wouldn't stress the kid out trying to practice on 300+ range targets. That more for us stupid adults trying to show off.
A 10yo should be fine with just about any/all hiking in that unit (assuming he isn't a couch potato...
Everything is negotiable most places on this planet. Don't be afraid to email and ask. Someone, somewhere probably has a cancellation or vacancy needing to be filled. That said, winning an auction is probably going to be the easiest way to get your initial costs down. Do a larger group, that's...
Thanks. Late 50s and early/late 60s on our first time to SAfrica. The few policies I had looked up seemed to exclude extreme sports and safaris. Should be a tame trip but when you are getting up there in years even rolling out of bed can be dangerous ;) Just don't want anyone stranded.
Forgot to add. I also used that bow for my son with special needs son (he is a lefty). He still shoots a recurve (switched to an adult 35lb recurve around age 16) with us at 3D shoots. We let him shoot several arrows until he hits the target and the folks putting those on usually let him shoot...
My kids grew up watching me shoot while camping (didn't allow them outside while I was shooting in back yard). Toddlers had one of them $20 Walmart fiberglass bows that can go left/right and all started by around age 3 including my daughter. By age 5 my daughter was out shooting her 3 & 7 yo...
Anyone know if they fixed all there problems (who runs it, prices, new targets, vendors, etc). My son is trying to talk me into going back this year but the 2018 & especially 2019 were so terrible I swore I would not go back again.
LOL You all sound naive. My non-hunter wife would never give back a Trophy Elk tag. She'd make me buy her a fancy new rifle, teach her to shoot, work harder than ever to get her a shot at a big one very close to the road and warm truck. Yes all before I could even think about filling my tag...
I still can't see anything on the portals for any of my families 6 separate apps. On the draw page, if I go to the purchase point guard link, I do see the elk apps for the ones where I didn't already buy point guard. In the accounts I did buy point guard, I get a message that I may have already...
Update again:
Despite what the G&F lady on the phone indicated, my daughters portal also showed no application (hers was the other one I forgot to add the optional email too). I just went back into the tool and resubmitted AND it let me. So either there are two apps (which supposedly cannot...
Update: finally got through to a person at G&F.
Despite being an online app, it takes a day or so for the online app to show up on your portal. Saturday apps finally showed up this Mon afternoon. Had to go create a portal for the kids who didn't have one to verify theirs. Still can't see the...
I did notice today that I can now see the apps for one of my sons and my wife are "pending" in their portal account. Nothing showing on mine.
Think I'll try re-applying and chase down the refund for the prior error after.
Took forever to get passed the busy signal on the phone and now sitting...
Oh and I forgot to add:
For the first few where I remembered to enter my (optional) email on the billing page, I have a receipt. For the others, I did not get an email but if I want to update the credit card I need the order number from that email to do it. <I was looking to use that method as a...
Anyone have issues with the new online application tools?
The receipts no longer show detail about what you submitted i.e. no way to confirm from the receipt what I applied for. I like have the prior format where I had confirmation of what I submitted in case of errors during the draw process...
