I drew the tag last year and had a great hunt. one_dryboot is correct for the first 3/4 of the season and then they disperse to different parts on the unit as the rut nears. Steep country and very few roads on the mountain.

any help on best time to hunt 44? I was up opening weekend and didnt see many deer, do they move down some when the weather hits?

what would you suggest for deer? Is Oct. a better time to hunt for the deer, after some weather?

I saw a few bulls at first light up willow creek pass the camp grounds back in the mountains on the left side of the road. I have a deer tag and sure didnt see many deer. were you spotting many deer in the unit?
