The problem that won’t be resolved in legislation like this is drones have the ability to invade your personal space and privacy far more than someone simply trying to recreate on public land and crossing a corner. The corner crossing issue is simply fueled by greed.
If the hunter harassment charges stick this land owner might not be doing anything this fall except wishing he’d kept his mouth shut about the three hunters last year as now he may have 300 this year.
If it isn’t surveyed and pinned the owners guess on where the corner is definitely isn’t any more accurate than any gps or onX location. I’d be willing to bet in court the gps or onX location would win that argument.

By your comments I’m assuming you believe that the property owners in this case should have exclusive access to all of the checkerboard public land within the ranch? I’d question how stepping directly across a corner or using a ladder as in this case because the ranch was...
How is the accuracy any different if you’re crossing a corner or walking a property line. I’d think if F&G used it as a reliable way of traversing the public private borders it’d be considered reliable enough to cross a corner but maybe I’m missing something.
I thought usually with these blm grazing leases the ranchers don’t get an all access pass to drive around wherever they want on BLM land but maybe I’m wrong.
I agree I was happy to see there stance with some of the electronic devices available today. At some point you have to draw a line because everyone’s personal ethics are different and have seemed to decline over time with the desire for instant gratification from posting trophy photos online.
I don’t believe you can take possession of public land through adverse possession which would be a fence line that isn’t in the correct place like you can for a bordering private land piece. Also each state has different laws on how long it takes to use adverse possession and it’s generally the...
Prior to OnX making it too easy for everyone to do this I used to load gps coordinates for each corner section into my gps which was a very accurate way of finding corners so your above statement isn’t totally true.
I’ve never come across a corner of a blm section that wasn’t pinned but maybe there are some out there as I definitely haven’t seen anywhere near all of them.
I’m not sure if youth get the jr mentored tag price without having an adult with a full price nonresident tag. I know for other hr mentored hunts the adult tag didn’t have to be for that unit necessarily but they did need one for that year.
