Normally I wouldn't, I was just expecting the recent, out of the ordinary snow to push all those type deer down, but apparently it is business as usual. And yes, apparently it will be getting warmer every day, which is making for a muddy mess.

Best I can gather, there is about 4 inches and still falling in Gunnison, which I think, is about 8500 feet. I think around 10, is going to end up with about 8. As far as how much it takes to move them, I don't have a clue.

Is anyone seeing any activity, brought on by the weather?

I am not firmly confined to 6 days, it is just that I have another tag,and I leased some property, all of which has the best hunting, in the first couple weeks of November.

Also, I have spoke to a few guys that have hunted this unit, and season, in the past couple of years, both guided, and DIY, and for the guys I spoke with, the most common method of hunting this area and season, was to ride from point to point, or, area to area, and glass, for most of the day...

I finally used 13 points to draw a 3rd season mule deer tag. I have a few other obligations this fall, so I was thinking about arriving Monday the 4th, and hunting the last 6 days to catch what normally should be the best 6 days of the 3rd season. But with the cold weather, and snow coming...

Not sure where you found that info, but I had 11 last year and didn't draw. According to the stats I found for 2015, 100 percent drew with 13 and 12 points, and 1 out of 6 drew with 11 points, then a few drew with fewer points. If not one really jumps ship this year, I should be good to go...

KP, that is a good method. The problem is, when you don't see those, oh crap, that is big, animals, and you have to weed out the best of what you do have, so you want to make the best of what you have, even if the difference may only be a couple of inches. But again, I have always felt the same...

After too many years of waiting, I cashed in on a unit 62 tag. I have taken a half dozen antelope, all in unit 23 and with very limited access. All with trespass fees, and limited boundaries. Not that I didn't have enough property to hunt on, but it will be unbelievable to be able to go and go...
