I would recommend the Pauns. This is why. The Bookcliffs deer herd is a fourth of what is once was 10 years ago and it's become really tough to find that next level buck. The Vernon can product nice deer but doesn't have the quality of buck throughout the unit. Your best bet is the Pauns but...
Are you serious about the wolves? My buddy is putting in for here and I spoke with the biologist and he said there were some wolves in the area. Have you moose hunted this unit?
My Dad just found out he's an alternate for a Henry Mountain late cow Bison hunt. I would love to hear any news or information about this hunt.
My dad is 70 years old and can get around okay. I'm curious what some of your thoughts are with this tag? I've never been on the Henry's but have heard...
LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-13 AT 11:52AM (MST)[p]Thanks for all the responses guys, you've given me some great things to think about. I'm by means no mathematician but the way I am reading the odds I am around 11 years before a Henry's muzzy tag is a sure thing, unless I get lucky. I know my track...
I have 15 bonus points and have been applying for the Henry Mountain rifle tag for years. I know it will be many more years before I can draw a muzzleloader tag let alone a rifle tag! Since I'm not getting any younger I'm thinking about putting in on the Paunaugunt or a CWMU. Problem is I've...
Got my goat with a .270 Ruger m77 with Barnes triple shock 140 grain bullet. Took it right down. Shot placement is key! High shoulder! Good luck and enjoy yourself.
Thanks for the ideas.
How does the Zen-Ray compared to the Vortex Razor HD? (glass quality, overall quality, and warranty)
I've heard about it but thought it looked like a cheaply made scope but this is all i've heard. Made in China vs. Vortex is Japan made. You having one might have a...
I've been in the hunt for a new spotting scope and was woundering if the Vortex Razor HD is a better buy that an older Habicht Swarovski spotting scope?
I have a friend who is selling his Habicht Swarovski 20-60 80mm for $700.00. I can get the warranty changed over in my name to help make...
>Jake, Did you Kill your Goat??
>Im heading back into the
>unit next week. PM Me
>if you would like.
Here is my billie. I have to say I was really disappointed! I thought I followed all the rules to shooting a big billie.
1. Look for a lone goat or double maybe even a triple could...
FYI the top Billie was killed on the opener and we had a chance to get a tape on him. He is 10 3/8 inches long and 6 1/8 inch basses. Just from this we think he's pushing 50 inches.
Does anyone have any idea how these both would score? Are they 40+ inches or 45+ inches? Would be tickled pink for a 50 inch goat but I would be pleased with a high 40's Billie.
I am planning to bow hunt the first weekend and see how this goes and if not pull out the rifle and close the deal...
