no love for me. But my son drew 16B early rifle elk tag!!!!!

I have drawn that tag twice and so this will be my third time on that hunt. I have a AZ unit 27 archery elk tag just across the border so we will be spending some significant time in the area mid-September thru mid-October.

Early or late 27 archery? I have the late tag.

Welp?‍? it’s another season on the San Juan tuning up my horrible fly cast. Does anyone know if the 4th choice is part of this initial draw? I selected it for deer and elk.

All red as a NR. Long shot elk units and moderate odds deer. Bummer

I guess after drawing long odd tags two years in a row, my luck finally ran out.

Good luck to all who drew!

only applied 2 of my kids as NR elk. Didn't have the cash to apply myself so no hunts again this year. Maybe the new bowsight I got patented and am launching this fall will take off and I can afford to take my kids hunting before they graduate next year and the year after. we shall see

Crazy draw for my family. My brother and I drew the same deer hunt (archery 25, a gimme) on separate applications. My dad and son drew deer (muzzy 21) on different applications. My dad drew 34 muzzy ES elk. And I drew 16 frigging A second archery!!!!! Only one who didn’t draw anything is my girlfriend. But she swung for the fences with rifle hunts. Not trying to gloat, but I am so PUMPED right now! A fall full of hunting from September till early November.

10 years and still no elk tag, but that is the odds and I love new Mexico. Usaully draw a tag every 3 years for something out of the 4 or 5 species a year I apply. Did draw my 3rd choice deer in a relatively easy unit to draw. Should be a fun hunt. "So your telling me I have a chance!!"

In shock here and in trouble. Drew 15 2nd archery elk. Drew same tag last year, and my daughter drew 17 youth muzz. Non residents. Really excited for 15 learned a ton last year, Excited for 17 also, but I have never been on that unit. Going to be tough to get enough days off, and going to need to pick up more side jobs. Wife is not as excited as I am.

I didn't draw anything requiring luck, got my 3rd choice elk tag in a tough unit that I know fairly well so that's better than nothing. My nephew drew Stallion Range oryx, so good for him.

You can always tell when a fella is from Utah because they say “on” that unit instead of in it. ?

I’m taking a complete guess you’re from Utah but I’ve got a good hunch.

Another year of red, I’m always so excited for this draw but always let down! See you next year New Mexico.

I’m perfect,18 straight years of red. Starting to think I’m color blind. Good thing I live in Wyoming. Congratulations to all that drew.

Sacrifice your hunt first to maximize time with your daughter's on hers.

She ain't gonna be around forever and before you know, she'll be on her own...

How was your elk hunt last year? Congratulations on the tag draws! None for me.

18 for years for me too that I haven’t drawn but I have missed 3 years of apps I think.

Unit 16 antelope tag- the only one issued for a non resident. Hunt 1-124. Anyone want to tag along who knows where the new world record is in that unit?

I agree 100%, I would much rather watch her kill an elk than kill one myself. She is my baby, so not looking forward to her leaving in 2 years. She she killed a small bull in Nevada the last day of the hunt 2 years ago.
