Seeing storys like what just happened over by eagle mountain is just sad, two drivers getting into it over a 5 mile stretch until a truck finally side swipes the car he is chasing only to have the car break and the truck shoots over into oncoming traffic going head on into another car killing both people in the other car.

Escalating the situation just isn't worth it in my opinion. People are stupid no need to get involved with that kind of nonsense.

Here is a link to that story.

Utah is by far the worst. Just drive in the OHV lane and observe. You can drive 10 miles over the speed limit and always have people riding your bumper. We deserve all the criticism (and more) from other states.

I remember driving in Washington and California. People were courteous and respectful on the roads. I find myself trying to avoid I-15 and I-80. Fortunately, I do not have to use these roads a lot.

Go to ksl.com and do a search on "road rage". It's shocking!

Driving an automobile in the SLC valley is always a good time...lol. Funner still dragging any kind of trailer behind you. I'm not a local so my head is on a swivel while trying to maintain the flow of traffic. Yet, you haven't lived till you try to negotiate the Boston metro area traffic.

I dunno. I think the survey suffers from self-bias. Utahns have less tolerance of aggressive drivers, so they rate their experiences based on that.

The times I've driven in large cities like LA, or in a taxi in NY, or even around Vegas- the drivers are crazy aggressive. But there, everyone accepts it as a natural thing, so they don't rate it so bad.

Maybe it’s drivers of Ford trucks!!?
But the worst part of my drive on hunting trips is usually Hwy 80 from after the the Great Salt Lake to the Wyoming boarder.

Utah drivers have the most road rage by no comparison. South Carolina has the least. The worst drivers I have ever seen are in New Mexico with the number of bad drivers increasing the closer you get to Albuquerque.

I lived in Utah for 3 years and the drivers there are the worst I've ever seen. People complain about California drivers but in all reality they are actually very good drivers they're just very aggressive drivers. No I'm not from California and despise the influx of them where I live. Ever been in Cali going 90mph bumper to bumper across a 6 lane highway? That's why they're aggressive drivers. Utah drivers on average are just plain dumb. Zero awareness with round-abouts (which UDOT apparently LOVES), zero awareness with pulling out in front of you when you're going 65-70mph on highways, and zero awareness as to which lane they should be in on the freeways. My road rage was at an all time high while I lived there and these reasons are 95% of it.

I think the "study" to rank the most aggressive drivers must have some merit. I'm not quite one of them but I have zero love for dope-head drivers.

Use you mirrors and turn signals. Get the he!! over if you're slower, regardless of the posted speed limit. Don't stop on the freeway just because you "need" to make your exit and didn't plan for it (f-ing lady), and don't be a Richard-head. Quit with the holier-than-thou attitude and drive the damn car or stay home!

I'm a fast driver but not an aggressive confrontational one.

Drivers who have no idea where they are or what they're doing aggravate me more than almost anything. I'll give the old-timers a pass on this. haha

Ya, I just love the GM commercial about the self driving truck and the Weiner playing paddy cake. Great, that's all we need, another excuse to not drive the car!

Hey Zeke!

Me & You Will Give Exceptions To Eel When He Tries His Hand At The MORMON 500!:D

Yes Mr. Bess,
I'm sure our friend, Mr.Eel will not be returning to Utah roads because of his past experiences BUT if he ever did, I'd be willing to help guide him safely through the State:giggle::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Keep moving please, nothing to see here.

Thank you for your eye-witness testimony Scrillznac.

lol....pretty sure you didn't hurt his feelings.....he is just keeping the state of Utah pure...can't say that I blame him
Beautiful state with awesome recreation. Only thing missing is salmon/steelhead fishing. The people are definitely a breed of their own. Only place I've ever been in my life that people stare at you for having a beer on your table at a restaurant. The religious influence makes it kind of a different world. I did live in rural Utah county though so there's that.

Beer lust……I’ve noticed that too…… it sucks. “Dumb” and “Different”….. a dangerous combination.

And that religious thing, if you’re here long enough you’ll notice the rural areas are where they hid the most worrisome of the “breed”…….

Best keep it on the “Is”. Those 80 MPH speed limit signs are the Feds. answer to: “If you’re go’in through hell…….”

Nothing to see here…..,,,,,,

Preach on brotha. Haven't been back since 2010. Hopefully that'll change at some point in the next few years. 13 LE Deer Pts and 13 General Season Deer Pts. Lucked out and drew Vernon Archery with 0pts back in 2008, the first year I was elgible to apply as a resident.

Having driven most western states, I'd say the top worst drivers are:
1. Utah
2. Colorado
3. Texas
4. Arizona
5. California
6. New Mexico

Worst Road Rage:
1. Utah
2.New Mexico
3. Colorado
4.Texas
5. California
6. Arizona

I will say this about Utah. Nobody has a clue how to use the left lane. They just sit there not letting anybody get past. Nothing is worse than driving from St G back to Salt Lake on a Sunday.

People also seem to have no clue how to zipper merge properly.

I would be fine if the entire US got it in their heads that Utah is not a place to move to. Keep up the shaming and chit talking!
Okay…… and no need to exaggerate any of it either. I’ve been on this enlightenment campaign for 8 or 10 years, don’t trust me? …….. you should fact check all of the claims I’ve made about what it is here.

In all sincerity, they ain’t nothing good going on or to see in Utah. Hammer down, one stop to pee and refuel is all you’ll need. Don’t talk to anybody, don’t spend a night, don’t take a detour, don’t pull over, don’t buy food or booze, always carry a snack, did I mention….. don’t buy booze, don’t make eye contact, don’t speed, don’t ask questions. East and west on I-15/70, I-80, North and South on 1-15 and I-84 are all the directions you need to know.

Never buy anything but fuel….. especially real estate, it’s all in a flood plain or lacks ground water.

Lastly, never, never-ever ask anyone from Utah anything. Regardless of which direction you’re entering or leaving, ask the neighboring State’s people. They’ll confirm every thing I’ve told you. Ask anyone or everyone in Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, or Nevada. Don’t bother asking anyone from Arizona though……. no one in Arizona knows anything about Utah because none of them have been foolish enough to build within 200 miles of the Utah border. Page, Arizona doesn’t count, they just built Page so they could fuel up and sleep before attempting to make a run through Ut. Smart…….Arizona people get it!!

Lots of great places to live in the Rocky Mountain West……. Nothing to see here……

I wish someone with your vigor of telling it how it is could’ve talked some sense into the silicon slopes clown show that decided to park itself on the border of utard and salt lake county.

Silicon folks are fake folks, young, arrogant, malignantly narcissistic…… they didn’t listen to the wise ones. Like all things silicon they’re easy to identify, they stick out.

Like most folks who move here…….. after two or three years, they’ll, “move on…… nothing to see here….”

In as much as this thread is an honest report on Utah drivers, I should clarify, it’s not limited to drivers. OH NO, that’s far too simplistic. It goes way beyond that. While driving and typing this, I came across further evidence..,,,,,,. If a picture is worth 1,000 words, what’s a video worth, when it comes to the truth….?

Typical manic ro

ad design, combined with the worst drivers known to man. What possibly could go wrong?

Really close to Silicon Slopes…….. is worth mentioning, I suppose.

Certainly…….. absolutely… nothing to see here……..

Man I love driving in Utah. The stretch of freeway between Beaver and Cove Fort I’m doing 90 and I am the slow guy on the road. Everybody must have recognized my safe driving because they were all waving and saying hi as they passed me.
