PS Dont go by Huntin Fool or MRS listed odds to determine how often you may draw. The odds they list are inflated by 2X to 5X! For example, they take take the total NR tags and divide by just 1st choice applicants.... even though all three hunt choices are valid. A much more realistic and...

FPB's is what I would use in CO for Muzzy from my research but I have not tried them yet. I had bad experiences with powerbelts myself and will NEVER use them again. Good luck with your CO tag. I hope to draw 61 archery next year or 76 muzzy is an option.

Coloradoboy, As an engineer I love details! Thanks for the great post. I have 17pts....no mans land as I call it. I have gotten advice to wait for 61 but the point creep is driving me nuts. I wonder if its really worth it as I just want to burn them and hunt more often!

Score was an estimate from someone who knows elk better than me. I guess I should have never posted it. Frankly, I have not put a tape on him and probably wont for a while... as I could careless and have better things to do like help my sons fill their WI deer and turkey tags.

Actually not to bad. Killed him in a rough area but luckily got some horses to take the meat down:) I packed the rack/skull half way down until it opened up so the horse could take over.

Well the 23+ hr drive was very long but worth it. I would like to personally thank all those on this forum that provided constructive help which led to success in filling this tag DIY. Its a 7x7 (including the matching stickers) that should go 340" or so. Thanks again!!!

Brings back memories of my goat hunt in WY. Might just be the toughest animal to judge. Finding a goat in a shootable location proved to be a challenge. I harvested this great billy a few years back in late Oct. with a rifle. I just love the long hair. Keep at it and best of luck!
