    2020 Mule Deer, Alberta ??

Difficult to contact is one thing (especially during some times of the year) but no contact since January with phone, email, social media, etc... is another. I'd reach out to someone (perhaps law enforcement) in the community where he lives and see if you can get an update on his status.

    Fence ladders

Ultimag, count me among the delusional (although at least I can spell the word). I think the ranch could lose. And, in this case I do agree with Buzz. The attorneys could be doing this pro - bono (that means free). Its a high profile case and if they win they could gain notoriety and public...

    Any feedback on meat processor

I generally do my own and I'm kind of picky but due to circumstances I have used Bighorn twice over the past 5 years - both times for Elk. I was impressed both times. Clean, fast and professional. Well cut and well wrapped. I can't recall the exact cost but I felt they were reasonable. I would...

Elk 4B North Early Bull Tag

Obviously from his post the OP understands that its an off the forest hunt - not unit wide. The area north of the National Forest is about 20 miles wide by 40 miles North / south. In other words 800 sq miles. As you noted this is a limited opportunity hunt. Its open grasslands mixed with...

    Some serious hunter harassment

Those hunters did their homework and they used their ladder appropriately. They were smart to track everything on their OnX and not get into any altercations with the ranch staff (I'm not sure how though). They have documented the harassment well. In my non - legal opinion if there was ever a...

    Mule Deer Draw

bear, HFF'S point is that a 185 buck is a tall order anywhere in Wyoming now - even in max point units. Its possible of course but if thats your only measure of a good hunt you'll likely be dissapointed. If you're looking for info I'd suggest you look at draw odds, narrow your choice down to a...

    Lookin..

...for a DIY Mule deer hunt for an old guy (me) with some mobility limitations (bad hip ). I have 9 preference points. Good access, moderate terrain and the opportunity for a 140 -150 inch buck are the biggest criteria. I've looked pretty closely at unit 10, 81 and the lower BLM regions of...

    Problem!

Hey Joe, food for thought... could be your vision but it sounds like you could have a fit issue with the SBE. Thats no surprise to me. I have one that fits about like you're describing and I can't hit S**T with it. How do your other shotguns fit ?

Well done. Looks like a great time with family. Thats a nice buck and in my experience its about the caliber you can reasonably expect in a Wyoming LE area.

    OnX question, Walk in areas

Hmmm.. I'd check your layers. I'm not familiar with the functionality of OnX and the I phone. I do know that if you have the public land /walk -in area layer turned on the walk -ins show up just fine on my Android.

    Antelope Regular vs. Special

As others have said, in general the rule "follow the money" applies - or in this case "follow the points" especially if you don't have some inside info on a particular unit. Likewise, the special draw usually provides better options. For me, I usually apply in the special draw. the couple...

As has been mentioned - lots of public land and decent numbers of Antelope. I don't know how picky you are but you and your wife could have a nice time on your own and kill a 70 + incher in one day pretty easily.

Currently, how many points does it take a resident to draw a sheep and a moose tag approximately? Not interested in ewes or cows. Thanks.

    Unit 63 Antelope

In my experience the Miracle Mile can be magical if you hit it right. On a more serious note - have you seen that the WGFD cut the tags in unit 63 by about half ? I think your draw odds should still be pretty good but maybe not a slam dunk. GOOD LUCK !

    Antelope 4 NR point unit

A little off topic but I completely agree with that Brian. For many the Antelope hunt used to be a "shoot the first decent one you see from the road" type hunt. Thats changing. People are walking farther and taking their time. I think the fact that those tags are getting harder to get is part of...

    NR Antelope Help

Have you looked at the WGFD Hunt Planner ? The draw odds are on there. 63 (2) and 32 were both 100% with 3 PP in the special draw for '20. Both were 100% with 5 in the reg draw. 73 was a point more than that for both. Probably add a point this year - Maybe add 2 points for 73 and 63 considering...

    NR Antelope Help

63 and 48 have both been hit pretty hard by winter and drought. I know they cut the tags in half for 63 and I think 48 had cuts as well. 73 is just west of Casper. Big unit with a lot of public. Some tag cuts there too but you could probably draw it in the special draw with 5 PP. 32 is southeast...

    Southern Wyoming snow

I'm looking at applying for a southern Wyoming Antelope unit. Last weeks big storm has me a little worried about the conditions and potential winterkill for them. However, I looked at the I-80 Webcams from Cheyenne to Rawlins this morning and it appears there's plenty of open ground with no snow...
