If you saw a heard of 31 cows, I would keep tabs on them and hunt that area. Sooner than later the heard bulls will start taking over those cows.

Looking for some input on building a ground blind. Have any of you built a ground blind the day before opener and still had elk coming in the next day? Or in your experience has it made the elk stay away for a while?

I was in 7 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. Seen a ton of groups of does and absolutely 0 rutting going on. All the bucks I saw were in bachelor groups and singles with no interest in does.

180+ easy. Probably 185.

I would be shocked if he his 340. 315 to 325 would be a safe bet though. Like others have said, short main beams, mass isn't there and overall frame is that of a 310 bull. Still nice though.

So I called Kalkomey on Thursday and they said the draw happened the day before and results would post on Friday. Nothing posted yesterday or today so far and per regulations it should have posted within 48 hours of the draw happening. Has anyone heard anything on what happened?

The way I see it, this is a new gig for them and there will be some things to work through the first year. I would believe that most people would be understanding enough to let them get the wrinkles out in 2018 and wait to have higher expectations until the following year.
