After watching some you tube elk and mule deer hunting videos over the weekend I was surprised at what people have in their content. I would be embarrassed to show people what kind of hunter I am. Call me old school I guess.

You can use a piece of rebar,or if you buy a copper one they are cheaper I found at home depot or probably another home improve ment store and like said soak some water in. Put a few little flags on it.

My friend had a tag last year, he couldn't find them, not sure how many days he hunted. I even gave him some areas recommended by a guide friend.

Last year We were receiving emails before cc hits.

The last 2 years have been pretty dismal.I know we had a family of lions where we hunt, lots of coyote,and this drought. I Did see a good number of does this year but bucks are sparse.Talked to a friend who hunted the opener and didn't see a deer in the high country.

I remember when I had muzzleloader tags, probably in the ninetys,they were when it was still in November.I watched deer heading off the Simpson's going to Keg Mountain. I got the vochers from a landowner friend after he didn't get around to using them on the rifle hunt for cost.Try that now!

If you dont want to camp out in the sage flats ,there is a campground up Ophir Canyon and also at Clover Creek,both by nice creeks.They're probably not to far from where your hunting.

I've really liked Randy Newberg lately,maybe because I'm older and can relate to the struggles he has and his toughness. Also Epic Outdoors and Meateaters shows,not in to the whitetail stands and baiting.

Ya I was looking at a unit where no tags were allotted at 0 points. So even the youth have to have some points,Its probably not as big advantage as a guy thinks.

Question,if a youth doesnt draw a tag out of the 20% allotted are there names still included in the regular general deer draw?

We haven't done it for quite a few years but we used to have fun floating the Green and catching fish on spin tackle. The only problem I had was forgetting I was suppose to paddle and guide us through the rocks!

Had the PL tag in15 ,found an area with quite a few bull's.Ended up getting a nice bull,dark heavy anlers,a nice top end about 340 ,and good eating too !

I remember those bad winter's around 83,84, when we had those bad winter kills ,It took quite a while for the herds to rebound, It sucked.

I been living with 2 herniated discs n my lower back for 30 years ,some good years some bad,once you get the pain down,learn some stretches and exercises ,use ice when you overdue it. You have to learn not to do somethings or you might pay for weeks afterward.

Hunted Vernon muzzy back when it was in Nov,The deer were migrating out to Keg for the winter, I dont think there's much water out there .There are a couple springs out there I believe.
