I don't know what statistics you are looking at. Non-resident unit 61 muzzy took 9 points this year. Same as archery, 9 points.Unit 21 muzzy took 9 also. Unit 40 and unit 63 took 3 points for muzzy. There are much better hunts out there for a 10 year investment, in my opinion. But 61 sounds...

"I just tried to buy a 69 sheep tag called in and the said I have to be at a g&f office in person, makes no sense to me as I would still have to pick it up at their office. MAJOR BUMMER!!!" The season must be in progress. You have to buy all tags at an office if the season is already open...

I want to clarify, I logged on and it was there, for 10 minutes, 2 refreshes. It may have been there awhile before I logged in, we just don't know. We don't need to jump to any conclusions.

Since this is a deer hunt there will be no need to wait for elk to get pushed to them. I suggest the later in the season the better the deer hunt will be.

You are making it harder than it really is. Private land only tags are just that. They may be used on any private in the unit as long as you have landowner permission. Not just the landowner you purchased from.

Somebody got lucky! Someone is happy today after buying a E-E-001-E1-R Tag. Just logged on and there it was. I already have a tag for bull elk so I was ineligible. That tag drew out at 17 points for residents and 23 points for nonresidents!!

Palmer Outfitters runs a flatlander Elk hunt in the San Luis Valley that they have great success with. Shooting Elk in this setting is not for everyone but it just may be the ticket for someone like your friend. Unit 82 I believe.

There is a nice campground on Sweetwater lake ,either public, or a private site w, hookups. The road is between Dotsero and Burns, closer to Dotsero. Just head west on the road til you arrive at the Lake.
