    Stallion Oryx Tag

I got lucky and drew an oryx tag for the Stallion range for Sep 13-15. If anyone has any info or advice they would like to share I would appreciate it.

G12 goat tag today from turned in tag!!

I had an awesome hunt with my son Hunter and best friend Cory Hays. My son was able to harvest this mature billy on opening morning. We watched this billy and another for two days before the hunt. This goat had the best hair of any billy we saw. To get around some cliffs opening morning we...

The goat with the patch of hair hanging on appeared to be the oldest.

G12 goat tag today from turned in tag!!

PM sent. We hiked into an area over the weekend and saw a ton of nannies and kids. We did find four billies together. Two of them looked older than the others and had big bodies and "horse" looking heads. I don't know if they are shooters or not. Their horns didn't seem too long but I don't...

G12 goat tag today from turned in tag!!

Out of the blue today I got a call that my son could have a G12 goat tag that was recently turned in. We obviously said we would take the tag!! The only problem is I haven't spent a lot of time in the unit looking for goats. I live near the unit and plan on scouting this weekend and all of...

Has anybody scouted 61 this year?

I looked on the North end on 8/07. There are no acorns or manzanita berries this year. Saw very little bear sign. I think if you can find the serviceberry or chokecherry there will be bear. Maybe the acorns did better further south in the unit.

    2015 Bull

After 17 years of applying I finally drew the tag I had been holding out for. I made the most of the opportunity by scouting a bunch in the summer and fall with my good friend Cory Hays and our boys. Cory knows the unit well and we had a couple of good bulls found in the days leading up to the...

    how much snow

The last storm dropped a lot of snow on the winter range for unit 53. The coyotes were already taking a toll on the fawn population and I can only imagine what the extra snow has made their job a lot easier. Hopefully the forecasted warm weather will show up soon. Either way there is...

Unit 53 3rd Season Deer Quality

I drew as a resident with 4 pts. I wasted a point but wanted to hunt rather than accumulate points. I know a lot of people that put in with 2 pts and didn't draw in fAct I don't know anyone that drew with 2 pts. Three points seems to be the magic number for residents. I am not sure what it...

Unit 53 3rd Season Deer Quality

I drew a unit 53 3rd season tag this year. I spent quite a bit of time looking at the winter range and picking up horns and never did see anything exceptional. From talking to some of the local mule deer experts it sounds like the quality has gone down hill the last few years. I thought about...

    Henry's Buffalo Hunt 2014

The amount of points is kind of embarassing. I grew up in Utah and started putting in for moose when I could. After seven years I switched to desert bighorn and figured I may draw out if I put in for 30 years. I got lucky and drew an Escalante tag with 6 points so I started putting in for...

    Henry's Buffalo Hunt 2014

Wow, thanks for sharing the photo and story of your 2013 hunts. That is a awesome bull and definetly shows what the unit is capable of. I checked out your website and you have taken some great bulls over the years.

    Henry's Buffalo Hunt 2014

I got extremely lucky and beat the odds to draw a Hunters choice second season tag on the Henry's this year. I helped a friend kill a bull in 2012 and know it is a tough hunt. I heard last year the hunt was really tough due to snow and it looks like success was down compared to previous...

    Lying So Called Buddies

This entire thread has been a spoof to get even with the two clowns in the photos. Lets just say they had it coming. You couldn't meet two better guys when it comes to helping others harvest game. They have helped many friends and a few complete strangers harvest the animals of their...

    Lying So Called Buddies

Attached are the photos of my "buddies" bucks. The top photo is the infamous NUNYA with the Bonzo buck. I looks like he took him with a contender. The bottom photo shows the other big buck my other buddy took. I am not sure they will go over 200 but they are both nice for their size.

    Lying So Called Buddies

I dont expect my buddies to give me the exact location they were hunting. I just want to know how big the bucks were they killed and a general description of the area they harvested them. They have a lot more time to scout and check stuff out than I do. I guess I just want them to through me...

    Lying So Called Buddies

Wow Huntsnora I didn't expect such a venomous response. I dont see anything wrong with some late nite recon. I guess the buck my one "buddy" killed is called the Bonzo buck by the locals. It apparently had quite a following with the locals. I should have pics later tonight. Can somoene send...

    Lying So Called Buddies

Here is the situation. A couple of buddies had tags for a unit out of state and recently went hunting. After the hunt I heard every excuse why they didn't get any deer(weather, genes, drought, guides, cattle, illegals etc). Well I was quite suprised as these two have quite a reputation for...

    Worms in deer meat

I started cutting up a deer last night and noticed a few white round pockets about 1/8" in diameter. They can be removed easily and almost look like a worm or something. I did some research on the internet and I think they are tape worm cysts. Does anyone out there have experience with this?

    My Dealings with Darner

Gossip Queens I cannot believe the previous posters lives are revolving around some much anticipated dirt. I too would like to finish hearing the rest of the Darner story from Rich. Cut him some slack, unlike you he may actually have a life ouside this wedsite.
