Cow elk hunt unit 48-2 hunt 2100

It's gonna be a zoo for the month of October because of the general deer hunt. Main thing is to find the migration corridors. Find them and you will find the deer and elk. A buddy of mine and myself were lucky and got his bull tag and my cow tag filled last year on Oct. 16th.

    IDFG Elk Depredation Kill

This goes back on the ranchers, if in fact it was done on a private ranch, that want reimbursement for the crop damage that the elk or deer do but yet they won't allow any hunters to come in and harvest the animals. This is just another way to get around the system. It's unfortunate that the...

    IDFG Elk Depredation Kill

I totally agree. Another interesting thing is that it was done under the rug and nobody knew about it. Only reason I found out about it was that I know someone who processed them. Pretty dirty in my opinion either way.

    IDFG Elk Depredation Kill

Through a reliable anonymous source I heard the IDFG killed roughly 30 elk within the last few days for depredation purposes. This supposedly occurred in the Magic Valley Region. Anybody have any word on this other than hearsay? Like I said I just heard this and don't have any more...

    54 Rifle Doe Antelope

Stick to the foothills south of Kimberly. There is usually some roaming around right there. If not there go on the other side of Rock Creek Road and go up south of Murtaugh. There is some private lands up there but they're generally surrounded by BLM. If not there head up Hopper or Bear...

Got super lucky. Drew Idaho 52 rifle deer and 46-1 elk Dec

Unit 46 hunt will be a really fun hunt for you. There are plenty of high points to just park the vehicle and glass for days if that's what you want. It is a weather dependent hunt but the bulls should be in there regardless. I helped pack out a nice 6x7 last year with a friend that he got...

    OTC Idaho Deer Tags

When it says regular/whitetail that means mule deer or whitetail. It's so a hunter can kill either a mule deer or a white tail in the unit they are hunting depending on the season. There are some white tail only hunts and tags but this isn't them. Hope that clears it up for you. Starting in...

    how accessible

I agree with the guys above. It would definitely be easier in southern Idaho then anywhere else in Idaho. I have hunted the Panhandle and southern Idaho and finding elk in the Panhandle takes off the roads 99% of the time. Not saying it can't be done but I would definitely look into southern...

    OTC Idaho Deer Tags

Here is the link for the exact number of nonresident deer tag quota. https://idfg.idaho.gov/tag/quotas-nonresident Like it was said above you can pretty much throw a dart and hit public land but it depends on what you like to hunt. If you want rugged mountains then central Idaho is for you...

Pretty certain he is referring to the open cow hunt in August but I may be wrong.

I need your wisdom, friends. *Idaho Antelope & Elk*

Since you're doing the August hunt for cows just make sure you are outside of National Forest land. That pretty much leaves you the private land along the foothills south of Murtaugh, Hansen, and Kimberly. The best bet, like the guy said before is to start knocking on farmers doors. Pretty...

    Unit 45 cow elk

Saw some bulls this morning just off the power plant road west of Pioneer Reservoir. Saw them from the interstate so I would maybe check out there. I know you have cow tags but where the bulls are at I'm sure there are some cows near by somewhere.

    46 elk

Yeah go ahead and shoot me a PM and I will send you some pics. I don't think that it has snowed up there yet and if it has it's very little. There are usually some elk in the unit by this time already but the weather will definitely help.

    46 elk

I have the 46-2 cow tag in December but I know the unit fairly well because I coyote hunt it quite a bit. There should be a good amount of elk in it but it is always weather dependent. If we get some good cold snaps with snow chances are really good of finding a nice big bull. Not sure what...

    Unit 48

Just got back from hunting Unit 48 with a buddy and we ended up getting a buck each. Nothing big. We started high (7500') and didn't cut a track in the fresh snow for more then a day. Changed up and went to the lower end of the unit at around 5000' and that's where we got into them. They...

I'm no expert so I'm taking a wild guess on his score but I would guess 340-350?? Any more thoughts would be helpful. Don't mind the year, it's not 2019 yet.

    unit 46 idaho

46 is a big unit and a lot of it is public, however it does hold some good bucks if you know where to look. Some of those areas that look so desolate do in fact hold deer. You will find most deer in the agriculture areas bordering the private farm land. The unit is definitely a unit you have...

    54 Muzzleloader

First off, congrats on a very cool tag. Those are very tough to come by these days. I grew up and live in Southern Idaho and have hunted that unit many times for deer and even once for archery elk a few years ago. Very cool unit with quite a few elk if you know where to go. My suggestion...

    46-1 elk muzzleloader

I have never been lucky enough to hunt elk in this unit but I have hunted deer quite a few years there. I would actually stick to hunting the unit 47 portion since that seems to be where most of the elk are at in September and October. A good place to start would be House Creek. Opening day...

Hey guys, I'm new to this site so we will see how this goes. I am looking at doing a backpack elk hunt in the Pioneer zone between September 15-21 and was seeing if anybody would like to join. I am somewhat familiar with the area and have spots that I am for sure going to check out once I get...
