    Book Cliffs Roadless bison

My dad drew the tag this year. We were in there for a week and saw one loner bull. He killed the bull and it ended up being a great bull. I know of two other bulls that were killed while we were in there. There are 10 total tags for the mid-rifle hunt. I am not aware of any cows that were killed...

I've switched to Outdoor Edge. The blades are actually thick enough that you can sharpen them if needed before actually changing out the blade. I've been very pleased with it.

    scary sight at Hunt Expo

Speaking of Chaffetz, how about the Back Country Hunter and Angler guy who stood up during Chaffetz's keynote speech at the Saturday night banquet and starting yelling at him about public lands, etc. It was quite the sight. He was literally carried out of the banquet and arrested. I'm surprised...

    7mm 200yd zero

If your scope is a Nikon BDC then you can use their app or website. Just plug in the details. In fact the website will work for just about any scope if all you are looking for is the initial shot. It's easier to shoot and get your zero by zeroing the first time the bullet crosses your line of...

State Official Inquiring About My Comments on This Forum

Styler is also an appointee and close associate of the governor. The governor appoints the wildlife board and read a prepared statement at the last expo. It's not hard to see where this is coming from, especially in an election year. This was clearly a veiled threat to you and your law firm...

Debunking the DWR?s Frequently Asked Questions Re: Utah Expo Permits and Conservation Funding

RE: Debunking the DWR?s Frequently Asked Questions Re: Utah Expo Permits and Conservation Funding The last three FAQs discussed and the conduct of the DWR is inexcusable. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I treated one of my private client's like this or represented them in the...

    Please! Enough is Enough!

Right, because the two former presidents of SFW are now on the Wildlife Board making decisions to benefit us sportsmen. Don Peay and Ryan Benson, our lobbyists, are still on the board for SFW. So not a lot has changed.

RE: Debunking the DWR?s Frequently Asked Questions Re: Utah Expo Permits and Conservation Funding This was posted on another forum and needs to be posted here.... In its answer to FAQ #3, the DWR claims that the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (the "Expo") (1) drew 40,000 attendees and...

    2016 Hunt expo draw odds

Based upon the maximum amount of applications for one of the non-resident tags, it looks like at most about 1200 non-residents attended the expo. Compare that number with a base membership from the RMEF of 200,000 members and its not hard to see which organization would have brought more...

Cheer up ole Lump! :) it's just the beginning.
  21. I

    So...who made allegations of corruption:

Lump - SFW would have to file the lawsuit. Remember I'm defending whoever it is they think "defamed" them. Keep it straight.

Wrong again Birdy. A stay is a far cry from overturned. In fact, a stay is usually given in these types of cases.
  23. I

    So...who made allegations of corruption:

Actually I do. I've defended defamation cases (successfully) where most of the alleged defamatory content has been online. I'd be happy to meet you for lunch to discuss specifics if you'd like. Then we can talk about the stream access cases too.
  24. I

    So...who made allegations of corruption:

I'd love to see a defamation lawsuit filed. ALL of the SFW books, communication, finances, payments, etc., etc would all be discoverable. In fact, I'll volunteer my time to assist in the defense. First person I'd depose would the number one Lump. LOL!

From Conatser to the Weber River (navigability case) to the Provo River (trial wherein Judge Pullan in a lengthy and well written decision concluded the statute 141 unconstitutional) the sportsmen have won. It's pretty cut and dry the stream bed belongs to the public through an easement which...

10 pm tonight, Politics and Hunting

I've been following the stream access lawsuits very close. So far the courts, from the district court to the Supreme Court, have said it's pretty cut and dry. Non-supporters of stream access, like sfw, have lost every court battle thus far.

My thoughts regarding the Expo Tag decision

As an attorney myself and being somewhat involved with this process, I have inquired and discussed this issue at length with Marty Bushman, the DWR attorney from the AG's office. Marty is a good guy and will talk with you about these issues. That said, if I were to take the same actions the...

My thoughts regarding the Expo Tag decision

Birdman its disingenuous to suggest that the current expo is on equal footing with other expos. The only reason the expo is what it is today is because of the 200 expo tags. Take away the tags and the expo goes away.

    Utah Expo Contract Decision

If RMEF gets the bid there should be no conflict of interest as none of the Wildlife Board members are former officers of RMEF. The issue would only arise if SFW/MDF is awarded the contract.

    Utah Expo Contract Decision

LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-15 AT 10:00AM (MST)[p]The point is Birdman is that the DWR hid behind the state procurement laws as the whole reason the RFP was put in place.
