I hunted 9 days there last year on the early archery hunt. The first 4 days we hiked every day all the way in some 4 miles. No luck. We found them lower..hunt the wilderness boundary fenceline..Hike it until you find one of the numerous trails the elk use. Find a good fresh trail and be there...

Any of the aforementioned units will do. Heres a thought. Buy a bow..lots more challenging AND rewarding. Warning though, most quivers only hold 5-6 arrows.....

Yep I wouldn't EVER put in for any of the Unit 2 hunts again.. It sure would be terrible for the people that live and work in Unit 2 to be able to draw a deer hunt in the unit they grew up hunting in.. No instead they have to listen to the non residents complain about the hunt they themselves...
