LAZY F BAR OUTFITTERS: Colorado Unit 66

Thanks for the review's fellas, it's a tough pill to swallow that's for certain. The question now is how to move forward? My buddy and I have the same number of points for Elk in Colorado, Elk in Wyoming and other points for other species in a few other states. Were definitely hesitant after...

LAZY F BAR OUTFITTERS: Colorado Unit 66

Not sure where to post this but wanted future hunters to know of our 2023 experience. This hunt was an out of state, 2nd season hunt costing each hunter 12 preference points, $6000 in guide fees and $2000 in hotel, transportation and tip expense. Initial Goal was to shoot a 180 buck but by the...

    Unit 66 outfitter

Agree, I just burned 12 points on Second Season 66 Mule deer and we used a well known guide service and went 0 for 2. Absolutely no age structure left. Does and 2 year olds only. I'd like to leave a review, not sure where to write and post it.

How to work with an Outfitter when applying for a limited Unit Draw

Thanks Fall Guy, I was afraid of that. Well, looks like I have some long range planning to do. In the short run me and a buddy would still like to go hunting this fall so I'll have to try and find another unit or a tag. Thanks Much!

How to work with an Outfitter when applying for a limited Unit Draw

Hi Group, I was wondering how you approach working with Outfitter's when applying for a limit draw unit. Do you typically wait to find an outfitter after you have been drawn or do you reach out to them before you draw? I have 10 PP and have called a couple of outfitters but have not gotten a...

    Looking for Tall Hunting Clothing

Hi Group, I'm looking to invest in some better quality hunting clothing and was wondering of the different lines out there who sells tall clothing. I figure there has to be some tall fellas who have tried about everything on here. I'm taller then your average fella (6'8") and and XXL for...

Error Applying for Mule Deer license: Will I get my Preference Points Back

That's what were planning for as I'm sure they only consider health issues. Still, there is an Outfitter, guides, hotels that just lost two customers. WGF probably doesn't care but the state as well as us lose in this situation.

Error Applying for Mule Deer license: Will I get my Preference Points Back

This fall a buddy and I apply for a Wyoming special Antelope and Special Mule Deer tag in zone B. We are planning a casual DIY hunt on public land. Unfortunately when we applied we made an error in applying and used our 5 preference points by mistake. Those preference points were being...

Getting started by picking the right GMU

Thanks Elks96, I appreciate the advice. I laughed and am relieved by your comment about the DOW statistics. I have looked over that data so hard I came close to having an aneurism. You can only look at that data so much before you have to put it down. I love to bow hunt but I have to be...

Getting started by picking the right GMU

Hi Group, I'm working on picking a GMU in Colorado that I can learn and begin hunting primarily deer and Elk in some type of yearly rotation. I'm starting this late in life as I am in my early 50s so I want to enjoy it as much as I can before my options start to decrease. I plan on using a...

Landowner tags, are they a good idea and how do they work?

LAST EDITED ON Jan-06-13 AT 05:58PM (MST)[p]Thanks for the good advice group, I very much appreciate it! I have been on both the Colorado and Wyoming wildlife sites trying to determine where I might go every year so I can learn the area. I am looking at both Mule Deer and Elk. One thing I...

Landowner tags, are they a good idea and how do they work?

Rip-off Artists are one of the major detractors of hunting the west. Not only do they take your money but they steal your valuable time and make you distrust those who are honest. I agree Caveat emptor ?buyer beware? is in order when judging unfamiliar services. I dislike this part of...

Landowner tags, are they a good idea and how do they work?

    >Do your research and network, I >bought damage elk cow tags >this year for 500.00 a >piece. > >Chances are the ones you see >on craigslist aren't worth buying. >The really good deals are >only found through the grapevine. >I am on a waiting >list to buy one of >the best tags in oregon...

Landowner tags, are they a good idea and how do they work?

Thanks Brian, I appreciate the input. I agree the best approach for learning an area is to repeatedly hunt it. I very much like that idea but getting my hunting buddies to make an annual trip will be impossible. This would leave me hunting solo which I am a little leery of. I am coming to...

Landowner tags, are they a good idea and how do they work?

Hi Group, I'm looking for your advice and opinions on using land owner tags. I live in Minnesota and have hunted my whole life. I have taken several western trips, do it yourself, Drop Camp and one fully guided hunt with mixed results. Unfortunately like allot of guys I work too much and...

    Olberman

I think the real story here is that NBC might be showing signs of cracking. Lets face it, FOX has only been around for 12-13 years and they are dominating the ratings. Maybe NBC is tired of swimming against the tide.
