You forgot one of the biggest reasons deer numbers are going down. Poaching! the poachers know there is a slim chance of getting caught. We need more LEO in the hills year round.

Are you talking the Wenaha? if so only every other year because the outfitters will draw that tag. I think the ODFW should make this more obvious. ODFW wants the $$$$ so they make it hard to know this little fact. For example....Mount emily shows 2 non resident tags for the unit, but only one...

remember there is actually only 1 non resident tag that can be drawn in that unit. The stats show there are 2 but one goes to an outfitter every year.

I understand your frustration but if only 50% of the non residents apply then ODFW will still make as much or more than last year. This year I think that their revenue will be much higher due to the fact that many non residents will dump their points and go elsewhere NEXT year. True our mule...
