Personally, I would track elk from water towards their bedding areas. Set up on their trail about a mile from the water. Most of the bulls should be on a regular pattern. Since the majority of bulls drink after dark or just before dawn you'll be in a better ambush spot closer to their bedding...

From what I'm reading you can hunt the whole unit. Usually it says (Restricted Access see note...) next to your unit number in the regs if some places are off limits. It should be an awesome hunt. Congrats.

I drew my second choice 30B rifle Coues Dec 10 thru 31st. Tag number 3.

Yes I got a hit for $45. I applied for 30A first choice, 30B second for December rifle coues. I'm a resident with five points and hoped to draw in the bonus pass. Wow I'm just glad everything went ok.

Shortly after the draw closed AZGFD had June 24th as the last day to update cards. Then a few days later that date was removed from the website.

Thank you again. In the worst case at least I'll explore new country. I'll let you know how the hunt goes.

You are onto something with the 50% preference and 50% random draw for nonresidents. It's hurting those with low points in the random draw. We picked up on this and keep our non-resident applicants separate from our resident groups. In my opinion, those random draw states suck though because...
