Looking at the tag allocations from the past it appears that this zone has decent deer numbers, Have 4 points as a non resi.

180 Bucks?? Area worthy of a rifle/Archery draw??

I've heard of some decent bucks coming from there, but it looks like no late hunt there any more. Ends 10/31 this year, instead of November hunting in the rut.

There's plenty of descent bucks, and a lot of road access except for the Tobins. 180+" would be very tough. Maybe one a year out of the 400+ tags.

Thx for trying mtnstalker it didnt come thru. Got my eye on Star mtn and the Tobins. We'll see if we draw! Avid archery hunter in past. Looking to pack in and sprnd several nights at a time on top of these two areas in early August to scout if I draw.

Don't know if I'd burn 4 points for this area. I've drawn with no points and hunted both places you mentioned. There are some good bucks there but I did not find one last time. Took a real spindly 26 1/2 inch 3x4 for meat near the end of the hunt.
One of the main problems with both mtn. ranges is mtn. lions. They have been pretty rough on the deer population. I think the state record mtn. lion came out of the Tobin. You might contact NDOW and ask if the cat numbers are up or down.
