Well my 16 year old daughter and I just returned from 2 hard days of hunting in the Uintas on her Youth Any Bull hunt. No luck. We busted 1 elk out of the deep timber up in Whitney on Saturday afternoon but never got a look at it. It was hot both Sat and Sun and there was no talking going on within an hour either side of day break or last light.
We put right at 10 miles on our boots Sat/Sun covering a big chunk of the Gold Hill and upper Whitney areas. We even made a run out on the North Slope by Table Top and Elizabeth Ridge, not a single elk to be seen or heard.
We had fun but as my daughter said, "It would have been more fun if we had seen something".
So we are regrouping a bit this week and will hit it again next weekend and hopefully get her a shot at a bull... not being picky at all, just like to see something for her to get a shot at.
Heard of some nice bulls taken on some of the LE hunts this past weekend... have yet to see pictures of them.
