Took my girls up in northern NM for youth hunt. First morning worked a few birds, henned up. So worked some other areas, got one to gobble up on top 1/4 mile away. He dropped down , came running in gobbling, strutting. Hardly had time to set up. She smoked him at 20 yds. It’s her first bird! Headed back out to another area see what we can find for my other daughter. Seen between 150-200 elk. Lot of bulls still packing, 5x or less . Such a great hunt out with them! Got to see a lot of wildlife, so much better hunting with your kids/ having them get one! Hope the rest of you are doing well also!
