2016 satistics are up

Time to see how unlucky those of us who didn't draw our first choise were. My elk draw was 88% odds last year with 1 point. This year the odds were 42% with 1 point.
Looks like I was a victim of point creep! It's also fun to see people who blew in excess of 10 points for draws that take 0 to 2 points for residents to draw.

Epic drought for me. After 17 years of one or more tags, I failed for the third straight. My partner and I put in for a hunt with 9 points. All eight NR tags went to guys with 9 points. Ten applied. Him & I were the only 2 who failed to draw.

Can't win for losing. Only long shots in OR & AZ remaining.

What's the most elk points anybody can have? I saw a feller listed with 25 points and a whole gob with 24. Is that the top of the heap? What year did points begin?

I applied with 18 points this year and didn't even get close to a smell. I welst to of hiked my leg and farted big. It'd got me the same results.

Only thing I can think of is they are waiting for scouts/guides to turn up some state record and then drop their points and hope to shoot that specific bull???

Cause really there is no other reason to be sitting on that many points in CO...

Go to the CO parks and wildlife website. Click on hunting big game and look for statistics. Then whatever specy you want.

Thanks for the link. I was actually looking there. That web page doesnt load correctly on my IPhone. The web page loads fine from a computer... Got what I needed.

Wow! Didn't expect to see such a PP increase in some of the local units. Makes me feel fortunate for the tags we drew. Hopefully a good season ensues.
