I'm starting a custom rifle on a Mauser long action and I'm leaning toward .25-06. What bullets would you suggest for coyotes and bobcats? Thanks for your help.

I have shot a few with my 25-06 They were all good. 87-120s As far as the pelt. Not good. Hit one with an Hollow Point. Pretty much cut him in half. Only a few threads holding him together. But as far as long range or windy conditions tough to beat. Wouldn't use it for pelts.

Way to much gun to save a pelt. If you are concerned about the pelt then you'll need a smaller caliber.

Maybe try a solid of some sort.. I believe Barnes makes one 90 grains?

That's a lot of gun if yer thinking about saving hides...
