I dont know about the half curl part. Just make sure if it has a half curl it doesnt have nuts.

I've seen alot of old ewes and never a half curl.....

Here?s a ewe my oldest boy killed when they first started this hunt a few years ago. This was in unit 252 if I remember right. Sure wish we had a ram tag after seeing a couple of jaw droppers. Good luck on a way fun hunt.

What's the best way to age one on the hoof without being close enough to count rings?

Yes and keep in mind a young ram's horns can make him look like a ewe.

Horns of a young ram are more triangle shaped than round.....
