2nd choice draw question

Hello all- hoping someone can clear this up for me. Do I have a chance of drawing a second choice tag in a unit that has less than 100% draw odds for a nonresident?

In other words, will the tags be issued to everyone who puts that particular unit down as a 1st choice before assigning any 2nd choice applicants tags? Couldn't get a clear understanding on the DOW site.

If you put in for a unit as a second choice you will only have a chance of drawing that tag if there are tags remaining after the first choice draw. If you're looking at the draw odds site, the unit would have to show as a 100% draw with zero points as a first choice in order to have any chance as a second choice.

You can look at the drawing summaries in statistics on the DOW website to see if there were tags remaining after the draw last year. It will also show you how the tags went as first, second and third choice etc. Hope this helps.
