This all started almost 3 years ago out coyote hunting on my turkey hunting ranch I have access to. I came around a stand of cottonwoods to set up to call and ran into the resident herd of does and a absolute stud of a boss blacktail buck, he was a 4x3 with a really nice dropper and was all rutted up with his girls. I tried like he'll to get him on camera that winter but wasn't successful unfortunately. I did see him right before he dropped his set and knew the general area he had lost his antlers..fast forward to a whole year and some change after picking him up on trail camera, and taking some pics of him through spotting scope
I was checking cameras yesterday and decided to check some trails as I always do to look for his sheds. I was searching a newer area and found a great little 4x4 shed and was scanning the brush and ground for its match when it happened..
Up under a heavy shaded bush I spot tines and within minutes I was holding this brutes last year's set..I'm totally stoked to have recovered 2 sets off this guy and look forward to hopefully catching him once again chasing his does in Nov..
This was his previous set
And this is the result of a great taxi job...
