Does anyone have any advice for hunting the dos cabezas mountains for mulies? I understand there is a lot of private land. How about areas to set up camp?

there is a lot of private property around the dos cabezas. I have hunted it a lot for coues and on a couple of occasions have seen mulies. even have a couple of sheds. personally, I think for mulies there are other spots in 30A that you would be better off hunting. generally speaking, you can get frustrated pretty quickly with trying to hunt deer in 30A and continually running into locked gates.

Do you have any opinion about the pedregosa mountains for mule deer? We havent been down there yet, looking to find a area to start scouting.

we saw a TOAD mulie behind the boss husted ranch area on our WT hunt last year. he was on private property though.

there use to be a fair amount of mule deer south of the rucker lake road but most of that is private property and there are not nearly as many mule deer around down there as there use to be.

there are also some TOAD mulies down by Douglas but they are few and far between. best bet would be to talk to as many people as possible. I would start with the supervisor for the area, not the unit manager but his boss. I would also try to talk to some boarder patrol agents that work out of Douglas and pick their brains.

a few years ago I saw a fork horn mulie that had been taken behind the Willcox cemetary.

good luck - sorry I can not be more help.
