Anyone hunting deer this year? All I can seem to find is negative info.... - but it's all from comments related to years past! I'll be there 2nd season - hope to return some positive news...

It got hammered harder than reports would show. There are some deer there, most are young but the older ones that you hope and pray to find had to survive that winter and there's just not a whole lot of them that did.

Herds are still recovering from the winter of '07-'08. I don't think we'll ever see the numbers we had before, but I think it's a good time to hunt. We had a mild winter last year and the deer are in good shape. I'll be helping my brother with his 3rd season tag in 67. I think he's got a good chance at taking a nice buck.

Ditto what tx_packmule said.
At least in 66. Saw some great looking young deer but nothing old and heavy with good forks.
