I have a late 6 tag I have looked thru all archived threads I can think of.I also have had help from a couple great guys on here on some starting points.I was able to make a trip out there this summer from NM and get an Idea of the roads and area.Any additional info I can gather. Or any first season guys that hit it.And if you guys need info on NM I know the state well.

I have the same tag. Hunting the last five days with a guide from Elko, so I'm not doing much research myself. Good luck.

That can be a great tag. My son had the early hunt a few years ago which was lousy. But we talked to a few guys that had the late tag the year before and it sounded like a whole different world. It sounds like it could depend on the weather. If you get a good storm the deer migrate into some of that area from somewhere. Have no idea from where but I would try Merritt Mt. And the Independence range. Both sounded like there were some great bucks killed in those areas after a storm. Good luck and let us know how you do.
