A little help here

I have 9 elk points and I am considering applying for either a 38 type 1 or a 51 type 2 tag. For those who have been in these units during the rifle season which way would you go? The bears in 51 don't bother me just looking for a good hunt to get of the point race. Thanks

Well couple things to consider. If you have horses and willing to put some miles on i would go for 51. As a non resident you are limited to the non wilderness. Less people to deal with. Quality of bulls in 51 are better than 38. But plan to work for it.

If you are a road hunter and enjoy crowds then 38 is for you. Expect a rag bull or up to a 320 class bull. Plus you got deer season that opens so that equals more people.
