I'm complaining, but would sure love to have that tag. And, if I had $250k laying around and all confused what to spend it on, I would buy the tag, along with many others, and have a good time. But, I might still be thinking, "man, Utah sure likes auction tags". But I'd be enjoying it.
I'm against anymore auction tags in Utah, but if I had the chance, I'd sure like to go out there with whomever buys or draws the deer tags and help them find a monster. Would be fun.
Should have made them all draw tags though. Let the tax payers pay for the park. We didn't need anymore auction tags.
I will say though, if a guy had that tag, and had to hunt alone or with just one buddy for 7 days, it could be tough killing one of the biggest bucks out there. Of course there are a number of them that could be killed from the road, but the hills are big and rugged and it could be a challenge. I don't know if I would exactly call it a high fenced type hunt. A lot like the Henry's. Probably easy to kill a wallhanger, but killing the whopper of the mountain could take some work.
Having 4 people helping each hunter will make a big difference, as 5 total guys scattered across the island with radios will probably result in the two biggest bucks on the island dieing. There are very few trees for them to disappear into, and with enough eyes to look at most of the canyons each day, the biggest animals will be found and killed.....I think.
I'd take the tag and even buy one if I could afford it, but still complain about too many auction tags.
