Glad you all liked the pics. Thanks for the complements. The island is a state park and can be accessed via a 7+ mile causeway and a $9 entrance fee. It is open year round with hiking trails on most of the Northern end. Durning the shed hunt you were allowed to go anywhere, but all other times you must stay on trails or roads. These pictures are some of what I and friends have taken over the last 4 years. I have yet to get a good pic this year. There are buffalo, bighorn, antelope and deer. As well as coyote, fox, badger and bobcat. And a boatload of chukars. Throw in a few pheasants and the worlds largest concentration of misquitos and you have the island summed up. It may or may not be worth the trip out, depending on the day.
Muleslyr, The bedded buck is a great typical that is bigger and better each year. Last year he had a 200 inch frame. He is however not the one that killed the other buck.
