First buck Antelope tag in 11 years. My brother and I drew same Archery tag in 2007. We both drew exact same tag again this year except rifle in the only unit we've been applying for. My brother seen some nice bucks on scouting trips so late morning on opener found us heading to that location after passing on several bucks early morning. We immediately found this buck and at first my brother said," Nope, he's not the heartshaped buck I wanted. Having the entire hunt off and being the opening day, we both went back and forth and I kept thinking that one of us needs to shoot him. Finally after we both kept saying, you shoot it, I finally decided to take the shot and end my hunt. This buck actually grew after hitting the dirt. I had no idea he was as big as he was. His longest horn is 15 3/4". Longest cutter is 6 1/8" and his first and second mass measurements are 6 3/4" and 7". We rough scored him at 83 7/8" Gross score. Biggest scoring animal I've killed. Regardless of score I am extremely grateful to hunt with my brother and family. My 12 year old son was with us as well as sister in law, brother in law and nephew. My brother ended up killing a buck that went just over 80" one week later.
