Antler Painting?

Hey guys i have just recently started to play with an antler that when i found it both the g2 and g4 had been snapped off but were laying next to the shed i have got it all put back together but used quite a bit of minwax wood putty to do it so i was wondering how to make it look as natural as possible. should i paint them? if so where can i get the paint and how do you use it? thanks for the help.

Wood putty will not stain the same as the antler will,so you'll get a different tone.I don't know if painting will do the same or not.My guess is it will look different than the antler as well.
