Here's what i see when i think of a 190 typical;
When the buck waslooking at me the first thing i notice is how tall he is, he's taller than he is wide and man ,he has nice eye guards. But then i see that his horns sweep out a few inches outside his ears. Maybe the ears aren't all the way out but the horns are outside them, his inside spread looks to be only about 25 inches but his outside might go 27-28", but oh so high.
He's heavy too, heavy all the way up, now that i get a better look at him. Hmmm. When the buck first turned his head to look at a group of deer further down the basin, i couldn't believe how deep all the forks were...and clean, no trash points that i can see. I'll bet all his points are at least 10-12" with his g-4's being the longest. When i looked to see how long his main beams were, i was surprised to find that they swept out near the tip of his nose, not as low slung as most of the bucks you see but out and up with a curve toward the middle in the last 4 or 5 inches.
This buck is gonna score 190, what a buck, i get a dead steady rest and squeeze the trigger. I hear the kaboompuwop of a good hit followed closely by a series of beeps that cloud the issue. It's usually then that i reach over and turn off the alarm clock.
