Bait

Alrighty! the spring season is fast approaching for hunting bear. What would all you experts recommend to a novice on the best set up and the best type of bait to use? What really works. I will be hunting in Idaho out of a tree stand.

Where in Idaho are you gonna be hunting? I dont pretend to know everything about baiting but I have always used old bread and oats and meat scraps . Fill a 50 gallon drum with that stuff then pour a couple gallons of grease in front of that, So that when the bears come in to the bait they will get grease all over them and as other bears cross their path they will smell it and in a perfect world follow the scent right back to your bait! Anyway thats how its supposed to work.. Hope that helps..
