I drew a Nevada archery deer tag this yr so have made the plans for a 10 day hunt. However, I did not draw an elk tag in Nevada or Utah. now I'm a guy that loves to hunt elk and more importantly my family loves to eat it. So I was thinking about buying an otc archery tag for utah and giving it a go. I have a buddy in Beaver that said he would help me get it out if needed but hes not an elk hunter so he doesn't know where to go. He does know that Big John Flat turns into another town during hunting season so thats not going to work. I was looking over the maps and was thinking maybe down in the south end or north end but its a big area and not knowing what anything looks like I am not even sure where to start when I get there.
Can anyone help me out? I'm not looking for anyones honey hole and don't mind packing in a couple miles, I just need a place to start.
