best backpack?

I am assuming you mean with an External Frame?

If so there are a number of good packs with External Frames:

-Outdoorsman is pretty good
-Badlands Ox is pretty good.

There are several more, but those are probably the most broadly used for hunting.

Does anyone use military surpluss stuff? And is the civilian stuff that much better? I've got my old large ruck(need a frame) and I humped a ton of crap around with that.

Kifaru, but its an internal frame. It will carry more than you can lift with the cargo chair. I put 125 lbs of meat on my Spike Camp and it did just fine. I, on the other hand, did not do so well. Hiked to the edge of the bench and split the load into two before going down.

i just got a free mystery ranch from eastmans and its a great pack with a lifetime warranty

I love my Badlands Ox you can pull the pack off and use the frame
for hauling alot of meat.

I prefer the badlands packs. I used the ox to pack out some moose last year and will be using it again to haul in some heavy loads this year for a bear hunt that I am helping with. I hunt with the 2800 or the super day pack. Never have had a problem with any of them except blood stains not wanting to come out.
