Best mule deer and elk state

Hi, I'm looking to relocate from Texas to either Colorado or Utah and would like some opinions and suggestions to which state and where in the state would you choose to live to hunt mule deer and elk. Thanks!

I have lived in Colorado (Fort Collins)and most of my life in Utah. Colorado has 10 times better deer hunting. Elk hunting in Colorado is better for over the counter tags. Not many areas that have 350 class bulls. Limited entry in Utah is the best of any state for quality. It is very hard to draw. If it was hunting alone, I would live is Colorado and put in for Utah elk as a non res. Good luck.
